Saturday, August 18^th and Sunday, August 19^th  – COPPER MEMORIAL 6 – Man Scramble.  The golf course will be closed to non-tournament play for the weekend.

Shop News

In order to help save golf carts on busy days, please have two riders on all carts when possible.  We have noticed on a few occasions where groups have more than one cart with a single rider.  This should only be done when permission is granted from Billy or Jeff.

The Copper Memorial 6-man scramble will be held on August 18^th and 19^th.  Entry fee will be $225 per person.  Food and beverages will be complimentary throughout each round.  The Calcutta on Saturday night will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.  Please sign up your team in the Pro Shop by August 15^th.

Saints football squares will be available beginning August 3^rd.  $25 per square.  Payouts will be $25 per quarter for the entire season.  Numbers will be redrawn each week and will be available in the Pro Shop.

Course News

The grounds crew is continuing to work diligently to keep the course in the best condition possible and will be preparing areas for the PGA Sanderson Farms Qualifier to be held in October.  We ask that you help in caring for the course as much as possible by using the 90 degree rule when possible, limiting the number of carts in groups to the minimum required, filling divots with sand, and repairing ball marks.  We all enjoy playing on a course that is in the best shape possible, and we should all take ownership and pride on the course we get to play.  Blatant disregard for the basic rules and etiquette concerning the golf course will result in a $25 involuntary contribution to the golf course improvement fund.

Club News

Anyone who would like to prepay dues many do so and will receive a discount of 5% for 6 prepaid months and 10% on 12 prepaid months.  Please see Holly in the office if you are interested.

Thank you all for being with us going into 2018! We are very excited about what we have achieved, what we continue to strive for, and what we have to look forward to in the coming year. It would not be possible without your support, so the staff and ownership of Deerfield send out our sincerest of gratitude.

Golf Course News
The golf course will be undergoing some limb removal in the coming winter months, so please excuse areas where the staff may be working. This will mainly be on the back 9. There are no events on the course planned until March.

Clubhouse News
There will be a Valentine’s Dinner on Wednesday, February 14th for all interested in attending. Details are still being worked out at this time concerning the menu and pricing. Postings will be made throughout the clubhouse as well as on the Deerfield Facebook page as soon as information is available. Please be sure to thank Tara, Dennett, Joyce, and Tiffany for all their hard work in dressing up the clubhouse. It is heading in a truly amazing direction.

Billing News
In the past few months, you have noticed some changes in our billing practices. A big thank you goes out to Holly for making this happen. We hope we have eliminated most of the errors and confusion that led to this change. We would like to have our records and balances as current as possible after January, so if there are any changes that need to be made to your account, please let us know. Beginning March 1st, any account that is 30 days past due will lose the ability to charge items to that account until the balance becomes current. Any account that is 60 or more days past due will lose membership privileges. If you need assistance in arranging a payment plan, please call Holly and we will work out a suitable solution.

Thank you to all members who were gracious enough to donate to the employee Christmas bonus fund. We were able to give all employees a substantial amount to assist with their Christmas expenses. You are the best members in the business.

Friday, October 6th – MRA Homecoming Scramble – 8:00 a.m. Course opens for member play at 1:00.
Saturday, October 7th – Deerfield Couples – 12:30 p.m. – Course closes at 12:00 p.m. Member play will be a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
Sunday, October 8th – Deerfield Couples – 8:00 a.m. – Course opens at 1:30 p.m. Member play will be a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 12th – MWDA – 12:30 p.m. – Course closes at 12:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 19th – Sanderson Farms Pre-Qualifier – Call Wednesday for available times.
Monday, October 23rd – Sanderson Farms Qualifier – Call Sunday for available times.
Wednesday – Friday, October 25-27th – Swing Thought Tour. Tee times available beginning at 10 a.m. each day.

Course News
Please help us by filling your divots with sand as much as possible in the coming weeks as the grass will begin to go dormant and will not grow over divots. This will make the fairways much healthier going through winter and into spring.

Club News
Please bear with us as we are changing our accounting and billing practices. We have made a bookkeeping change, and beginning with the November billing cycle, we will generate all charges on our point of sale software and will change the billing dates to cover from the first day of each month to the last day of the month. We will also have the capability of emailing your statement to you instead of paper billing if you prefer. Please include your email address with your payment this month if you are interested in this service.
Please be on the lookout for new events at the club. We have recently hired Tara McCullough as the events coordinator at Deerfield. Tara is looking forward to organizing several events for Deerfield members to enjoy in the coming months.

Copper Memorial 6-Man Scramble Aug 19 & 20

The annual Copper Memorial Tournament will be a 6 man scramble this year.  There is an entry fee of $1,200 per team ($200 per player). This fee includes practice rounds, (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)(Cart fee only), carts, practice balls, free beer and soft drinks, lunch on both days, dinner and Calcutta Saturday night (including date), flight prizes, closest to the hole prizes, and a tee gift! Field is limited to the first 36 paid teams. There will be 9 teams per flight. 1st place will be awarded $2,000 2nd place $1,600, and 3rd place $1,200. (prizes based on full field). Ages 49 and under will play from the blue tees, 50-59 from the white, ages 60-69 from the gold, and 70+ will play from the red.
